Taking pictures of trees
For this sort of picture, the photographer is going to opt for their long lens and an aperture that keeps foreground, mid-ground, and background in focus. I dont usually get great shots of trees myself but a recent unusual one I found in Georgia turned out really well. Trees are everywhere and most of the time you’ll just get lucky and find interesting and unusual trees along the way. The rich golden light just before sunset transforms not only leaves on trees, but those on the ground as well. The next morning we started out and we drove all over San Francisco taking photographs of abandoned Christmas trees. Today the sorry remains of the venerable big tree, known the “Chicago Stump,” can be seen in the Sequoia National Forest (left).
